Bonjour! I am writing again to keep you all informed and give you something to do other than work :). I just came down to my room which is in the basement area of the home. There are four floors and I am in the basement, then there is the level with the front door and kitchen and family room, then the level with their rooms, and then the attic area with millions of dvds and cds, computers, and tv. It is a pretty good set up and I like having my own space. There is a cleaning lady who comes and changes the sheets and does laundry and cleans everything and I forget what day she comes. I think it will be different for me to have someone else do my laundry and it will seem strange to me. I picked Jeanne up from school today and walked her to her mother's apartment which is very close, so that she could go to her violin lesson. She meets her violin teacher at her mother's apartment and they practice for about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. Germain (the dad) dropped me off at her school so I could wait for her and I felt very intimidated because I do not know much French. Oh well I am going to learn...Germain says that we are speaking English now and in two weeks we will be speaking in French...I am not sure I agree...
Dad...you will be happy to know that I am really getting into the whole map thing and I don't love it but I don't hate it haha
So once the violin lesson was done, Germain picked us up and we went to the train station to get some tickets and show me what to do...yea I am still confused haha. Then we came home and Germain made dinner and we had some frozen Cantonese rice which was really good, some steak, and there were these strange snail things from the ocean that we ate...some big and some small...I never thought I would eat that but I did and it was not very bad.
After dinner, Germain and I tried some cheese with wine to show me what I need to learn about France. There were 3 kinds of cheese, one being blue cheese, and I did not hate them but I think it could take some getting used to. The blue cheese was good and Germain told me it was different than the kind in the US because it is not pasteurized like ours. I am a little hesitant to eat all of these things because I am not sure how well it will treat my stomach (Lol) but I am always going to try and if I do not like it will be alright...I hope...:)
German got me a sim card for an old phone to use for a week and then a Blackberry will be coming for me where I can e-mail and get SMS and talk on MSN on it....I am not sure if I can send messages to you guys internationally but I will find out because I would not want to make a huge bill or anything....
I am going to go to bed shortly because I am getting up early to go to school with Germain and Jeanne and I do not have to do anything all day until 615 or so which means I am going to attempt the city of Paris on my own for the first time :)
I am going to try and avoid having to speak to anyone and I hope nothing bad happens but if so, I will be able to call Germain!
I want to go to Les Champs Elysee because it is very close to Jeanne's school and I am going to also try and find my school where I will be taking classes! I cannot wait to do that because then I will definitely meet some people who will hopefully be my friend haha :)
I will let you know what else is going on and hopefully nothing too big or anything. Germain has a friend with an American au pair and he is going to give me her information so that we can meet up and hopefully hang out and she will be going to the same school as me!
Sorry if any of my information is repeating what I said before but I do not always remember what I write.
A Bientot!
Jess
