SALUT!

Bonjour mes amis! I am sitting here right now with the husband of Germain's aunt which I think would make him the uncle but I am not sure if it is his real uncle or not. His aunt is a writer and she just published a book about paintings around Europe and the focus was on fathers and their babies because most of the time artwork has mothers and their children or fathers and their children who seem angry and are not looking at each other. It is very interesting and I will not be able to read it until I become very fluent in french because it is very difficult and advanced. I will hopefully one day reach that point where I can read things in French because I would like to continue speaking and studying the French language even after my year here.
I hope to one day teach my children French and Spanish as they grow up because I think it is extremely important to know more than one language! It really allows you to become more well versed and very educated about the world. I think it is something I hope to accomplish in many languages but right now I am just worried about focusing on french of course :)
I am learning a lot with the girls and I was playing with Colyne just a bit ago and she was a wizard and I was turning into a frog, a butterfly, a tiger, a cat, a monkey, and a dog. It took a while to understand all of these things but I knew some of them and I am getting better. The girls are very patient with me but I think that it is frustrating for them as well because they do not want to always have to teach which I completely understand.
I cannot wait for the day where I can just speak to them in complete French and then teach them the English because once I know French I will say the French and English every time so they get used to hearing the language and put the two meanings together.
For lunch we ate chicken and rice and had some cheese and bread as well. Then I ate this really good chocolate thing and I forget what it is called but it looks like a chocolate volcano from one of those restaurants!
I am going to go but I will write more later :)
Love J

  1. Hi Jess,
I just dropped Kaylie off at her place. She wanted to get back because you guys are going to Skype! We just spent the afternoon down in German Village going through shops and often thought of you when we would see French things. You will have to tell us the name of the wines and cheeses that are good from there!
